Full Frame 24MP Dual Native ISO Sensor with Optical Low-Pass Filter

The BS1H features the same renowned image quality as the S1H. The 24.2 MP Dual Native ISO Sensor captures impressive dynamic range, colour and highlight roll off, to render your scene with impressive detail. Dual Native ISO technology adds a second high base ISO, improving noise and detail in low light environments. The inclusion of a OLPF (Optical Low-Pass Filter) helps reduce the chance of moire in fine detail shooting.

Versatile Recording Formats

The BS1H offers a wide range of recording resolutions, frame rates, and compression options, designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of creatives and their workflows. The camera features 6K Full Area (3:2) capture in true 24p, perfect for shallow depth of field anamorphic cinematography. Both oversampled C4K & 4K UHD are available at 25/30p captured from the whole sensor offering impressive detail and finer noise characteristics. Slow motion capture is available in 4K 50/60p, Full HD in HFR 10bit 100p (with audio), and VFR 8bit up to 180FPS (without audio). Video recording codecs include H.264 LongGOP, H.264 All-Intra, H.265 HEVC with colour depths of 8 or 10bit to suit the production workflows and data requirements of professionals.

Built for Reliability

Designed for professionals that rely on their equipment in harsh and hot environments, this camera features a magnesium alloy body, and an advanced heat management system. The BS1H offers unlimited recording by the inclusion of a quiet in-built fan to keep the camera recording in a wide range of ambient temperatures from minus 10° to 40°C.

RAW video data output

For those looking for the widest colour flexibility in their video files, the BS1H can output RAW video data via the full-size HDMI port to be captured by a compatible external recorder* and saved into either Blackmagic RAW or Apple ProRes RAW. The camera can output full-frame 5.9K at 30p, or Super 35 C4K at up to 60p, and Anamorphic 4:3 at 3.5K in 12bit RAW. *Compatibility of recorders and editing software can be found on the relevant Blackmagic or Atomos website.

Simultaneous internal / external recording supported

To suit professional workflows, the BS1H can simultaneously trigger internal recording to SD card and external 10bit video recording via the HDMI port. Panasonic Cinema Colour Science

The BS1H incorporates the Panasonic VariCam professional cinema camera colour science, with multiple colour profiles to help capture your creative vision. For users who want quick turn-around on colour grading footage, HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) provides a great balance of natural colours, saturations and dynamic range. For more advanced users looking for the "VariCam Look", V-Log captures and stores a wide range of colours with up to 14+ stops of dynamic range which are then expanded in the editing suite. To improve the viewing experience when shooting in Log, both Panasonic conversion and custom LUTs (Look Up Table) can be overlayed on external monitors outputs. View more on V-Log/V-Gamut and LUTs

Remote control with LUMIX Tether for Multicam

LUMIX BS1H can be connected and controlled via USB tethering and by ethernet, enabling users to access and control camera settings from a local area network connection expanding the possibilities for remote placement.

Ethernet / PoE+ compatible camera

The LAN port offers PoE+* (Power over Ethernet) compatibility, reducing reliance on additional cabling for remote operation. With just one ethernet cable you can power, control, and transmit video from the camera, allowing up to 12 cameras to be connected to the same network. *PoE+ requires IEEE802.3at compliant network equipment

IP streaming with PC (RTP/RTSP protocol)

Supporting PC/Mac live production, the BS1H can transmit RTP/RTSP at up to 4K 50/60p in H.265, supporting live broadcast. Various bit-rates and recording formats are available to suit various network bandwidth capabilities.

Simultaneous SDI/HDMI Output

BS1H is capable of outputting video signal via multiple ports at the same time, including SDI feed for an optional third-party external LVF (Live View Finder), while simultaneously externally recording 10bit 4:2:2 via HDMI*. *with a capable external recorder.

Genlock IN and Timecode IN/OUT

Supporting multi-camera productions, the BS1H features both Timecode & Genlock IN. This enables frames to be synchronised to an external signal allowing the use of the camera in high-speed situations where frame alignment is critical, such as live sports, or bullet time or free viewpoint television-style effects.
